I just feel like bragging about the (slightly late) birthday present I got from my dad yesterday.
It wasn't really late due to his fault, but my own. He wanted to get me a new TV so I could use the Roku he got me this past Christmas. See... the TV I had only had two HMDI inputs on it. Which was fine - he got me an HDMI switch box, and so the Roku was on one input and everything else was on the switchbox plugged into the other input. But... then I got a PS4. And unless it was plugged into its very own HDMI input, I had no sound
thanks to the stupid HDCP on it.
Therefore, the Roku had to be sacrificed in order to plug in and use my PS4. (It doesn't work properly on the switchbox, either, as every time you use something else on it and go back to the Roku it'll give you a purple error screen where the picture should be).
So now I am the proud owner of this...
It is a 40" LED TV with three
HDMI inputs and a PC input. Now I can have all my gaming systems, my DISH box, and
my Roku plugged in with no problems. I can even use it as a 40" computer monitor - as you can see from the picture of me visiting the Darkmoon Faire in World of Warcraft - without
the resolution on my laptop being forced to change. (My old one forced it go to down because it wasn't 1080p.)
There were some bad reviews on this TV, citing crappy sound, but guess what? I fixed that problem! It's called, "Go into your sound settings and change them!" Yes, the sound was shit out of the box, but once I adjusted the bass and treble levels and fiddled with the equalizer a bit, it really wasn't that bad for TV speakers. I'll still use my Logitech ones during the day, though... for awesome, BIG sound.
So that's it. About all I gotta say today, except... Weather has been bad here and we've had several power outages in the past few days due to storms, but I'm still kicking it. Heading to see my nephrologist this morning, so hopefully things go well there, too. Oh, and my cousin is now in jail. Long story.
