Now that most people have either finished Inquisition or nearly finished it, I want to know: Do you want to see a set of stories unrelated to my personal "canon" based upon this game?

Making Some Progress...

Hey guys!

Hope everyone's new year has been going well so far. Mine could be better, I suppose, but at least I am finally making some progress on a few things.

Now that I have had a CAT scan and bone scan of my leg - amongst various other blood tests - my nephrologist has finally concluded that the likely cause of my nearly-unbearable leg pain is my high PTH level. So he's placed me back on some medication I was on during my years on dialysis which is meant to keep the levels at a reasonable level... and hopefully that will help bring it down.

I'm off the headache medication I was put on because it was causing me to experience chest pains. NOT a good thing. Now they're going to try Topamax, at my own suggestion since everyone I know who had had problems with migraines swears by it. The only catch is I have to take half the normal dosage as others normally would because of my kidneys.

Which brings me to my best news... my creatinine level is finally stable! After it being dangerously high for close to a year before, it is now at a consistent level of 1.2 - the lowest it's been since I first had my transplant back in November 2011. This is fantastic, but it also makes me angry because the doctor who was previously in charge of my case (the same one who did the actual transplant surgery) had been putting me at risk of losing my new kidney and I didn't even know it! Thankfully, I'm now being seen by a different doctor who caught the problem the very first time I saw him at Geisinger.

That covers my health, but what about my writing?

I'm currently working on the final bit of Chapter 16 of The Ferelden Chronicles, which will sort of tie in to something else I'm working on. (You can probably guess what that might be.)  And wow... The response to my poll concerning whether or not I should write some Inquitions-based stories was an overwhelming yes. I can't say when any of this will be done, but at the very least I have an idea for a very short piece about a veiled warning from Varia to the Inquisitor regarding Alistair's safety in her letter to the Inquisition... and the consequences of not heeding said warning.

If all things go well, expect an update later this week. I'm still waiting on some test results to come in yet from this past week, but I'm not thinking anything will be bad enough to put me back in the hospital. At least, I hope not.

Where I wish my home base was: Somewhere warmer. Seriously...We have four seasons here: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction. Right now, it's August and barely 60 degrees here.

Why ParisWriter? Well... Obviously, I'm a writer. So that's where that part comes from. Paris is after the French capitol, where I spent two days on a school trip when I was 15. I absolutely fell in love with the city. Someday, I hope I can go back on my own terms so I can really experience it without being rushed around.

What is Creative ADD? Creative ADD is a term coined by myself to describe the affliction that some writers have where your brain is just so over-run by ideas that you keep jumping around from one to the next and eventually end up with a dozen or so unfinished stories that you swear you will finish someday... though you can't exactly say if 'someday' will be in six months or six years. What's worse, you still keep coming up with more ideas, no matter how hard you try to stop.

How long have you been writing? Since I was seven. We had to write a story in our computer class in elementary school, and since it was around Halloween I wrote one about a house that basically killed everyone who went into it. (Whoever went inside was never seen again.) What can I say? I guess I've always had a leaning toward the darker things...

How long have you been writing fanfiction? I didn't even know what fanfiction was until my family first got the internet when I was 14. I wrote my first story - a really bad Highlander fic which, thankfully, no longer exists - when I was 15. I didn't really write much more fanfiction after that until I was 23, when I first fell very ill with kidney disease and spent a lot of time in bed with my laptop. So... Let's say about eight years I've been writing fanfiction.
