Day 11: The Next Three Years

:bulletblack:How does Hawke take to the life of a noble? - She HATES it! The Nobility on Kirkwall are all a bunch of snobs who act like they're high and mighty and proper Marker-fearing people... while better half of them have more skeletons in their closet than the Bone Pit. (Including over a dozen extra-marital affairs, at least two members of organized crime, and one who killed his own brother to marry his wife and take over his title - blaming the crime on an elven servant.) Her mother constantly dragged her to boring parties in an attempt to find her 'a suitable husband.' Thankfully, Sebastian - being of royal blood - would also be invited to those parties and managed to keep the majority of her would-be suitors away from her. She really didn't lie the parties, but she continued to go to them because it made her mother happy. Eventually, Leandra picked up on the fact that Adeline and Fenris had feelings for one another and realized she was being just as bad as her own mother had been, trying to force her into marrying a man she didn't love for the sake of their family's noble standing. She stopped bugging her daughter to go to the parties with her and began going alone.... Which, unfortunately, led to her catching Quentin's eye.

:bulletblack:What is Hawke's opinion regarding the Qunari and the situation with Seamus wanting to convert to the Qun? Did they side with Petrice at all? - While Adeline doesn't exactly agree with the Qunari - especially the way they treat mages - she respects that others might find some sort of personal fulfillment in following the Qun. For that reason, she thinks Dumar is totally over-reacting to his son's interest in converting. Petrice got what she deserved, as far as she was concerned, and Adeline nearly laughed at what happened. (She probably would have, had the Grand Cleric not been right there when it happened.) Even so... She thinks the Arishok went too damn far when he tried to take over the city.

:bulletblack:Helping their companions...

:bulletred:What did they think of Aveline's attempts at courting Donnic? - Adeline loves Aveline. SHe may be a bit meddling, but she's still a very dear friend. However... she is COMPLETELY HOPELESS when it comes to dating. Adeline was particularly mortified when she tried to set up the date between her and Donnic and she decided to bail at the last minute - causing Donnice to think Adeline was the one interested in him. Aveline got mad when she called her out on her feelings for her fellow guardsman, but things worked out in the end. Adeline was even her maid of honor in the wedding.

:bulletred:What was their reaction to Fenris killing Hadriana? What happened to Orana? - Adeline wasn't all that surprised when Fenris crushed Hadriana's heart. In fact, she'd been more surprised at him promising to let her live in exchange for the information on his sister. When he finally showed up at her house late that night, she told him she didn't blame him for letting his anger take over and that she would have done the same thing in his position. She offered Orana a job as a servant in her household.

:bulletred:Did they convince Anders to not kill Ella? How did they treat him after the incident? - Adeline did manage to call Anders out from under Justice's control and prevent him from killing Ella. While Anders saw himself as a monster for what he nearly did, she didn't really think it was his fault. After all, as soon as he regained control of himself he was instantly remoresful and scared of what he was turning into. She talked to him and calmed him down and convinced him not to leave. He seemed fine after that, but she didn't realize until too late that he really wasn't.

:bulletred:How did they handle the possessed/crazy Bartrand? - Adeline let Anders attempt to rouse Bartrand from the trance he was in, but while it worked he also told them the effects were only temporary. Knowing that he was a danger to everyone around him, she convinced Varric that it would be best to put his brother out of his misery rather than making him suffer from insanity for the rest of his life.

:bulletred:Did they allow Merrill to have the Arulin'Holm? - Adeline didn't want to give Merrill the Arulin'Holm, at first. In the end, however, she did give it to her - but only because she thought that once she saw that it didn't work, Merrill would finally give up on trying to restore the Eluvian and realize the mistakes she made in resorting to blood magic.

:bulletred:Did they encourage Sebastian to remain with the Chantry or take back his lands? What did Hawke think of the events they witnessed at the Harimann estate? - The Harimann estate was... Interesting, to say the least. Especially the "prude" of the family, since she was already feeling more than a little sexually frustrated due to Fenris having recently pushed her away. (They went there the day after  the conversation where he told her about his escape, which had nearly led to her spending the night with him.) Following the conversation with the Desire demon, she assured Sebastian that he wasn't evil for wanting to take back his family's lands and his rightful place as the ruler. Though she convinced him it was the best course of action, he still remained in Kirkwall as a member of the Chantry for the next three years...

:bulletred:What was Hawke's reaction to finding out what Isabela's lost treasure really was? Did the pirate come back, or take off for good? - She was shocked, to say the least, though she knew there was a reason Isabela always avoided going anywhere near the area by the docks which the viscount had given to the Qunari to occupy while they were waiting for their ship to come get them. Isabela initially took off with her relic, but had a change of heart and came back to return it to the rightful owners.

:bulletblack:What was Hawke's opinion of Meredith and Orsino? Who did they put in charge of forming a plan to deal with the Arishok's takeover of the Viscount's keep? - Hawke hated Meredith from the beginning, especially the way the woman started immediately ordering her around like she had authority over her. On the other hand, Orsino seemed like a good man and she felt sorry for those he'd lost in the siege of the city by the Qunari. While she took the reigns at the start in an attempt to prefent the First Enchanter and Knight Commander from tearing out each other's throats, she eventually sided with Orsino's plan, trusting the First Enchanter of the Gallows to effectively distract the Qunari soldiers so that she and her companions could get into the viscount's keep and save the people who were being held hostage there.

:bulletblack:How did things play out with the Arishok? Duel? An all-out brawl? Did they hand over Isabela in order to get the Qunari to leave peacefully? - Much to the dismay of Fenris (and pretty much all of her other companions), Adeline decided to duel the Arishok with Isabela's life as the prize. The early partof the duel did not go in her favor, with the giant kossith warrior knocking her down rather easily... but then Roland showed up and distracted him, giving Adeline a chance to place several curses on the Arishok. While he was stumbling around, fighting against the images in his mind, she burned him down. With the Arishok's fall, the rest of the Qunari left town peacefully and Adeline was named Champion of Kirkwall by a reluctant Meredith.

I hated the Arishok duel

He kicked my ass several times until I finally figured out a good strategy.
